Mack and Waskow Win WMT's Pewaukee Event
The Wisconsin Muskie Tour™ (WMT) opened its historic tenth season with a full field at the Pewaukee Lake "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ qualifier Saturday, May 15th. There would be 21 muskies registered for the one day tournament.
The first muskie to be registered for the contest would be scored by Dan Lewein and Greg Haluska at 6:39am with a 36 incher. The second fish to be measured would be the largest for the day and the eventual fifth place finisher when Dan Ballweg and Jordan Frey tallied a 42.75 nch dandy. At 8:39am, Doug Behm and Mike Kucken would be the first team to double up for the tournament with a 37 inch muskie, adding to the earlier catch of 37.50 inches at 7:12am. Eleven minutes later, Behm and Kucken would watch their early lead fall to a larger double that Ken Mack and Paul Waskow would register with a 40" muskie at 8:50am to go along with their previous tally of 38.75 inches. The next team to double up would come from the husband and wife team of Jim and Lynne Dembiec when they would score on muskies of 34.75 inches at 10:47am and 40.75" at 12:33pm. The final team to tally two for the day would be the father and son team of George and Andy Kingsland when they measured a muskie at 12:53pm and 41 inches, to add to their first muskie of 37.50 inches at 7:22am.

The next tournaments for the WMT are "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ qualifiers on Lac Vieux Desert and North/South Twin Lakes on the weekend of May 29th and 31st. There are still some spots open for each tournament. If you would like to fish the Lac Vieux Desert (LVD) event, you can sign up for the tourney on Friday, May 28th at the Hillside Resort on the south shore of LVD off of South Shore Drive between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Registration for North/South Twin Lakes will be at Grape's Twin Haven Resort on Saturday, May 30th between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
